Revlon ColorStay Makeup For Combination/Oily Skin in Warm Golden : Review & Swatches
~ Author : Debarati Ghosh
Hi all!
I am a girl who has an oil factory. Yeah, I am owner of that! Most of you are already aware of what I am talking about. My face is a big oil factory which gets worst at summers. And summer is already here. So today I am going to review Revlon colorstay foundation which is specially formulated for oily/ combination skin. Read on to know more about it.

My Experience :
Packaging-
Revlon colorstay 24 hrs make up comes in a transparent glass bottle with a black colored plastic lid. It has a pump dispenser which is very sturdy and dispenses right amount of product every time. I have traveled taking it in my bag. But it didn’t make a mess. So packaging is travel friendly too.
Shade and texture-
I am reviewing the shade warm golden which is a good match for medium skin tone. I have yellow toned medium skin and it matches me quite well.
The texture is very smooth and soft. It blends easily on my skin. It doesn’t dry out very quickly so it is a plus point as it gives some time for blending.
Performance, coverage and staying power-
Now come to the main point of review. I dispense a small amount of this on my hand and then apply it on my face with Real Techniques buffing brush. It blends very well and gives a smooth effect on my face. This foundation is not so runny but it doesn’t feel so heavy on my oily face. I can use it throughout the year.
It gives medium to almost full coverage and hides small imperfections of face easily without any concealer.
This foundation contains spf 15 but I don’t use it without sunscreen in the daytime. Though it contains spf, yet it photographs well. It makes me look glowy in the photographs. It stays on me around 9-10 hours if the weather is not so humid. But I didn’t try it more than that time. I wore it at around 9.30 am and returned home around 7 pm and the foundation was still there and when I started to remove it, there was moderate amount of foundation came off in the cleaning pad. It doesn’t help to control oil on my face and I have to set it with some good compact powder.
What I like– :-)
- Easily available
- Packaging is travel friendly
- Price is affordable
- Texture is very soft and smooth
- Comes with a pump dispenser
- Staying power is long
- Specially formulated for oily/ combination skin
- Seems to be waterproof as it doesn’t wash out in water
- Photographs well
- Requires very small amount for one time use
- Doesn’t oxidize on face
What I dislike- :-(
- Starts to melt in very hot and humid weather
- It is not too light to use and it is better for evening
- Though it contains spf 15 but this is not enough for sun protection (personally I feel if they contain spf they should contain it in high amount for use in day time. But absence of spf is better than less amount as spf tends to give white caste)

I am looking for a foundation but a lighter one. I do not need that much of coverage so what something that feels feather light but stays long as well.
Hi shailja
You can try Mac face and body as it is a light coverage but long staying one :)
The one thing I loved about it is that is contains spf :-D and has a good staying power. The packaging is also nice.

Hi beautiful. Is this foundation comes with the pump or you bought the pump separately? Because as far as I am concern, this foundation line never comes with pump. Thanks =)
Thanks for the swatch!
