A few days back I was walking in a park, it was pretty cloudy sky and the wind was hitting me through the trees. I could anticipate rain and instead of enjoying my walk my mind went into makeup; specially my liner. I had an very important day ahead and couldn’t imagine my liner getting rubbed off. Does that happen with you? Do you worry about your eye-makeup especially your eye-liner when you’re outdoors? I do!
Basically I’m among those girls who likes her liner to stay in place all day long. For someone like me it was very obvious to grab the newly launched L’Oreal Paris Gel Intenza.
I remember when I first started using gel liners, I always found them difficult to apply compared to pencil liners. But one thing that initially attracted me towards gel liners was NO sharpening, and no felt-tip applicators that dry out. Once I got used to it there was absolutely no looking back. Although I still use pencil liners on my waterline, I prefer gel liner on my upper lash line.
Packaging: The product comes in a cute lightweight glass jar. You will also get a free eyeliner brush with it. Unlike MAC blacktrack this product doesn’t dries out in the glass jar and you don’t need to store it upside down, that’s a huge pro for me since there is no fear of product wastage.
How I Wear it? Like I said before I use L’Oreal Gel Intenza on my upper lash line. I always avoid using any gel liners on my waterline (simply me) but I know so many girls who can tightline with gel liners as well, so go for what works for you.
Shade: Profound black is a rich dark jet-black with slight satin sheen but absolutely no shimmer. It has almost matte finish. L’Oreal also has Diamond black in the same range which does have glitter in it. I prefer Profound Black for daily use, also it goes well with any frosty finish eye makeup. Since most of my eyeshadows have little shimmer with frosty finish, I like my liners with absolutely no fuss/ glitter for daily use. Although for special occasion diamond black can be a better option.
Texture/Finish: The finish is matte but little bit of glossy. It has a satin finish. The consistency was extremely creamy, but it didn’t impact the wear. Profound black shade has the most creamiest texture and it glides like a dream. Its super smooth texture makes it easy to create a winged liner look.
Formula: Is quite long-lasting on lash-line with waterproof formula that is comfortable for eyes. The formula is lightweight too and feels like I have nothing on my lids. L’Oreal Paris 36H Gel Intenza does have a better formula than their previous 24H gel liner range. The formula works well & doesn’t change even in humid and hot weather conditions.
Pigmentation: Don’t let the smooth texture & formula mesmerize you! L’Oreal Gel Intenza has excellent pigmentation. The rich color payoff is visible in just a single stroke. The color intensity doesn’t change at all.
Staying Power: The USP of this gel liner is that it stays on and on, without cracking. It requires a minute to dry but once set it didn’t migrate even after five hours. It wears quite well on my eyes and I didn’t notice any flaking. It looked intense even after six hours of wear.
