My Experience with Lakme Lip Pout in Starlet Red?
Lakme lip pout comes in a chubby stick like packaging and the body color of the stick indicates the shade of the tint as it is red in case of starlet red. The silver colored cap makes it look classy and secures the bullet well. The stick is further comes in a black glossy paper cover. Yeah I love lip products with an outer covering, no matter what!
Shade, texture & pigmentation-
I haven’t found any individual review of the shade starlet red in the blog sphere and I want to say one thing that I am quite happy with the texture. It may be drying and hard to carry for dry chapped lips but I have no issues there. This is my personal experience and I am happy that I have invested my money on this. It doesn’t give any sheen yet gives a perfect red pout.
The shade Starlet Red is a bright red with an obvious orange undertone to it. It just brightens my face and gives an enhancement to the overall look. It really looks pretty on lips and I can wear it anytime say day or night as I love bold lips. But this doesn’t look OTT and suits most of the complexions.
The shade starlet red is also well pigmented and two to three swipes give me desired color. I love the fact that it is buildable so everyone can use this according to the intensity of their choice. Though initially the bullet is coated with a waxy layer which prevents smooth application of the sticks, but after first application the waxy layer gets disappeared and it glides easily on lips.
Finish and staying power-
Definitely it gives a pure matte finish and doesn’t leave any sheen. It stays on my lips for quite a long time say 5-6 hours easily. Though it gets a little patchy after meals and moisturisation is must before applying to avoid dryness after some time of application. I love this kind of finish and I am not going to compare these with Revlon balms. Who says these are lip balms? No, they are much better than those that too at lesser price!
What I like–
- Worth the money
- Doesn’t bleed
- Settles into a shine free pure matte finish
- Packaging is really good and easy to use
- Crayons have always very low maintenance
- Bright color which brightens my face instantly
- Lip liner is not required
- Stays for a long time
What I dislike–
- Umm, actually not major issues from my side as I really loved this but dry lip girls could feel stretchiness on lips after some time
