I’m finally sharing a review after a long time and truth be told, I couldn’t be more thrilled :-) . The last few days have been rather chaotic and I wish for a long break again. Little shopping and lot of resting will be a ideal day for me – a girl’s dream date with herself, right? ;-)

With that in mind let me share my views on Philips HP8316 Kerashine Hair Straightener ….

My Experience with the product ?

Few years back when I just began my beauty profession I went through a phase of heat styling my hair everyday. It looks less than flattering when you have dry hair texture and over the period of time the condition of your hair becomes worse and unmanageable. Fast forward, today I believe in taking extra care when styling my hair and use only good quality tools and products.

Last year there was a huge hype about this Hair Straightener and since I favor Philips brand, without a second thought I got this!

I would like to start with the unique body & design, Philips HP8316 Kerashine is crafted to deliver easy and quick operation. It is equipped with a cool tip that makes it easy to handle. Its shiny black color body and gold plates inside makes it attractive. It comes with wide heating plates but I feel lengthwise it is too small compared to my Remington straightener.

The plates of Philips Kerashine Straightener get heated really fast in less than 50-60 secs. Before I start straightening I apply heat tamer protective spray. Hair straightening with this tool is not only super easy but very effective when done in a right way. The only drawback is it does not have a heat control button and so it can get overheated sometimes.

Philips Kerashine has a special ceramic coating, were keratin is infused in it. It gets activated when you start styling your hair with it, the keratin makes your hair shiny. The straightener is also equipped with Ionic Care technology, which ensures that your hair doesn’t get tangled.

If you have very thick curly hair you may need extra effort to achieve a sleek/straight hair look but overall this is my go-to everyday hair styling product. It does the job of taming my frizz without damaging my beautiful locks.

Don’t forget to protect your hair every time you heat style it. Spritz heat protectant spray all over your hair to prevent damage while styling.
Always make sure your hair is clean and dry before styling with any tool.
Your ends are most susceptible to damage, so don’t neglect them when applying heat protective products.
Never to style wet hair with a straightening iron. Wet hair are delicate, and direct heat can cause permanent damage. Always blow-dry before using an iron.

I too own it. Lengthwise it’s small which is why it can be a bit more time consuming for girls like me who have long hair. But as you said, it does the work properly and the best part about it being that it doesn’t makes my frizzy hair frizzier.
