Himalaya Anti-Dandruff Hair Oil: Review & Ratings
( Author ~ Sanchita)
You must have read my Himalaya Anti-Dandruff Hair Cream review a few days back on Beauty & the Best. As we all know flaky scalp skin (read as dandruff) is a huge disadvantage of winter. Massaging scalp with good hair oil ensures proper nourishment of hair thus preventing hair-loss or dull hair.
I decided to buy Himalaya Hair Oil which I thought to be ultimate protection from dry flakes. Not only dandruff is embarrassing but it also makes scalp extremely itchy. Having used both the product for the past two months, here’s my thought on Himalaya Anti-Dandruff Hair Oil.

MY REVIEW ON HIMALAYA ANTI-DANDRUFF HAIR OIL –
The hair comes has a very simple and effective packaging. It is comes in a see-through plastic bottle which extremely light weight yet sturdy, accompanied by the green flip open cap. I found the packaging extremely travel friendly without causing any mess or spillage. The product has a very strong smell of herbal ingredients which might be bothersome if you have very sensitive nose. On the other hand, the smell also helps in eliminating a tiresome headache at the end of the day. I wouldn’t call it bothering but overpowering for a hair oil.
The oil is totally transparent (like water) and has a very thin and light texture. It spreads easily on the scalp while you massage gently with the warmth of your fingers. It is also advisable to use a little amount at a time because if you load too much, it will be difficult to control it. The oil is non-sticky and non-greasy and hence all those girls who simply hate oiling because of the heavy texture, this is the one for you.
Coming to its worth, the oil surely helps a lot in dandruff issues. Due to dandruff, my scalp tends to get itchy and irritable over the time and the oil exactly soothes it does to a large extent. i keep the oil overnight and wash off the next morning which eliminates every layer of flaky and dry skin from the scalp. I simply follow this routine once a week and other days, I continue with the hair cream. The ingredients mentioned has Tea Tree Oil which has some excellent properties to drive off dandruff. It has several natural antifungal, antibacterial, antiseptic, antiviral, and anti-infection properties which effectually deal with various scalp problems.
The oil, however, has very little effect in terms of hairfall and hair growth. I have naturally curly slight dry hair and the overnight oil-procedure save the hair from being damaged further when I use a shampoo. It doesn’t do much for hair fall and dryness but no side effect as well. Hence, for the dryness, you have to use coconut or castor oil.
After shampoo, I could never see any patch of dandruff on the scalp and it keep dandruff-free for around 3-4days easily. Then again, with oil and dirt it starts accumulating and I repeat the whole procedure. I do not know whether it will be of much help in case of acute dandruff issues or not. For the price, the product exactly does what it is meant to be.
OVERALL – having used the oil and hair cream for the whole winter, I did realize that this time I could control the problem well. I kept on using the hair oil and cream every week religiously and it prevented the problem adequately. Price wise, it is falls within the budget friendly tag.
