  1. Such a lovely video it is. My #KhulKeHoli memory would be this one year when we were in my hometown coz our exams got over soon. That was the only year the whole of our family got together and celebrated together. So the day before holi we all went colour shopping with my Mausi and had lots of fun eating all burgers and pizzas. And on the day of holi we all cousins got up early in the morning filled up balloons with water and colour. Since it was an independent house it had a huge garden along and that’s where we played holi. It was hell lot of fun dancing to all songs having thandai made by my mommy dearest, running here and there to fill up our pichkaris and pretend we were shooting with a gun. Haha those childhood days were crazy and super fun too. No tension or anything of any sorts. Now being a single family far away from all relatives I miss those fun days. Wish those days could come back.

Also our mom usd to put loads of coconut oil on our hair nd face in ordr to prtct us frm harmful chemicals…it really helpd nd v r follwng dis routine till date.

  3. #Khulkekheloholi Thanks dear for giving us a chance as m feeling nostalgic it’s my all time favourite festival ,me and my friends did lot of dhamal during holi . Water ballons ,pichkari gujiyaa and gulal lovely combination to celebrate holi. still remeber once I added gulal in toothpaste next morning my cousins got scared and told my father that their mouth was bleeding while brushing their teethand I started laughing as it was so much fun.

But now things has been changed now I avoid water ballon and harsh color and try to save water on holi

  4. #khukkekheloholi Festival of color is very dear to me me and my friends did lot of preparation one day before holi, Early morning me and my brother wore our old cloths and prepareed color water and had yummy mal pua in break fast was the sweetest memories attached with holi, we celebrated holi in park with other society members. Once a drunked came in our society and mine gang though him in the pool that was really funny.

This year I am planning to celebrate eco – friendly dry Holi with my friends and family. Instead of colours,I am going to play Holi with the colourful petals of beautiful spring flowers. This is the best way to celebrate Holi without wasting and contaminating precious water. Also me and my family visiting old age home to celebrate this colorful festival with our elders and this way you I can make my Holi celebration unique filled with colours of joy, love and happiness. At the same time I can also do some good deeds and make others happy.

  6. #Khulkekheloholi Holi, the festival of bright and gorgeous colours, water balloons, glorious gujiyas and catchy Bollywood songs. I would wake up as early as possible and get dressed in my most disposable clothing. Followed by that, my family, friends, and I would gather to size up each other’s color inventory and color guns, balloons, and vessels. Some would have water guns with amazing range and aim, and others not so much! I’d spend the whole day playing with colors, and the celebration would wind down as the sun set. After the day celebration was over, the nights were usually filled with prayer, good conversation, and amazing food! That pretty much wrapped up the whole day!

  7. #KhulKeKheloHoli Even after 16 years of my marriage, the Holi festival brings with it the most colorful memories of my childhood. It was the time when we were free to roam painted in colors, gorging on Holi delicacies and having fun together!

The most of my vivid Holi memories come from the fact that I was lucky enough to be born and brought up in a joint family. The festival which is known to bring people together used to bond us all more closely to each other.

My fondest memory is that of my father filling balloons with water early in the morning. We’d go up to the terrace and throw balloons on each other . Among the gang, there were some cousins who used to close themselves behind the doors of their rooms and we used to treat it as a big accomplishment to paint them with colors once they open the door and say #BuraNaManoHoliHai! The music was played loudly with the Holi specials, Rang Barse being the official Holi legend! This used to continue for what seemed as hours. After when everyone gets tired, it was the time to go downstairs and finally remove the colors. My mother used to prepare various home-made scrubs so that the color can come out easily . My favourite delicacy for Holi is Gujiya. My mom makes the best Gujiyas and I cant wait for Holi to eat the Gujiyas.

  8. Hello Shreya !
    Thank you for the giveaway.
My #KhulkeKheloHoli memory is troubling my little sister by saying the colors are permanent and she will look the same forever with pink green and blue colors on her skin. Only coconut oil is the solution and then I used to run away with the bottle of oil and she used to chase me….
Another holi memory is puranpoli … a Maharashtrian dish which mom still prepares.

  9. First of all happier holi ????????????
    #khulkekheloholi?
I still remember when I was a cute baby very notorious and always super duper excited for d colorful festival ?
And the best part of that was my love for GUJIYA AND ALOO papad
    Relishing the taste of mithayi
I was bit afraid of colors lest it will cause injury to my skin and hair
When i think of it i cant stop myself laughing?
My mom used to tell me to apply parachute oil before holi celebrations

  10. #‎KhulkeKheloHoli‬ Holi has always been one of my favourite festival since childhood. Me with all my siblings and friends used to wait whole year for this festival. Like every other kid we use to play with colours balloons and used to waste lots of water. But once one of my cousin read about our ecosystem in school and importance of water and I told all of us too. Since then we decided not to waste water and stopped using water balloons and colours. We used dry colours. And every year we created a theme where everyone has to show his talents using colours like making rangoli, cooking colourful food, dressing up with mix n match dresses etc. This year again we will celebrate this festival together like always and this year I am showcasing the colourfull puppets i made from my old clothes. It’s fun and we enjoy doing it and our kids too love that and they are always excited about the event. And they too do the same. We will meet and put teeka to everyone and little gulal on the cheeks without which holi is incomplete and then we sing our folk holi songs. … I love them too much… and then our little exhibition followed by full on dance and food. This way we enjoy our holi and forward a message to everyone that you can enjoy holi without wasting water.

  11. Hi Shreya,

Happy Holi in advance & thank you for hosting such great contests…

#KhulKeKheloHoli My Khulke Khelo Holi memory is around 30 years back. It was my first holi in my in-laws home. Everybody including my husband was not in a mood to play holi & i was really suprised that why they all don’t play such a colourful festival. But the real surprise came to me on the day of Holi when all my brother in law asked me to close my eyes & gave me a gunjiya to eat. I ate it like a good bhabhi & it really tasted yuck. When i opened my eyes & saw it also has colours in it along with the filling, they yelled at me saying “HOLI HAI BHAI HOLI HAI; BURA NA MANO HOLI HAI ”

The feeling was just disgusting at that time but i dismissed it by treating it in a light-hearted way. After this incident, we were in full swing as we all started applying colour on each other’s face.We had a blast of colours, splashed a lot of water on each other & had an awesome time.

This unexpected celebration of Holi & me on their hitlist was indeed my bestest memory, because we all to love to act that why all of the other people are targeting us but deep inside we love the feeling as we are the centre of attraction for all. When i narrated this incident to my sister, mother; they laughed out so loud on me that i feel so embarassed that how could i be so stupid & ate that awe gunjiya without uttering a word…So pitty of me, but i certainly feel that these are those wonderful memories which last forever in our mind as though they happened yesterday only & i personally love to make such delightful memories everytime i am with my family….

  12. #KhulKeKheloHoli 2-3 days before approaching Holi, i with my girl gang used to splash water on the people of Roads in our city.We were around 5-6 cousin sisters together. I remember this incident while we were splashing water one day before Holi i.e. Choti Holi,we throwed a balloon filled with dark fuschia coloured water on road & it got fired wrongly & went on a police Personnel who was passing by. The moment he got hit, we all hide ourselves from the balcony pretending we haven’t did anything. But suddenly what we was hearing, the police person was banging the door of my house so hardly that he would break it…With such lot of noise, all the neighbours & my father arrived. They tried to calm him but he was not ready to listen to anyone & was shouting on full volume. We all cousins were in prayer mode that Oh God! please listen to us and safeguard us…We all were just shivering badly. But then my dad come upstairs & we got a very good scolding for playing holi a day before from him after which we all got into our shells as we all decided not to play Holi the next day in anger. But next day, my dad came & made us understand the whole issue in simple terms. He said today is the day to enjoy holi, u can do whatever u want, however u want…As we were children, we forgot the woes & started playing Holi with all enthusiam & is continuing that till now…This is the deadliest memory of mine of Holi but it is by far the best too…What else we demand from lyf when we get scolding & love from papa the same day along with gunjiyas, samosas, kachori…

  14. Hi Shreya

Wishing u Happy Holi in advance!

My #KhulkeKheloHoli moment belongs to my son’s childhood.
My son Shamit, who is allergic to smell, colors, dust n insect bites since birth, develops severe problems every time he comes in contact with any of these by chance. Despite his extreme craze for Holi, we could never allow him to play with colors. But as he grew up, it got actually impossible to convince him stay locked inside the house and see his friends enjoy the festival.
Last year, just before a week from Holi, the teary eyed boy requested me politely “mumma, please buy me some good quality colors (he meant to say organic colors) and I promise not to go out with friends, but will enjoy would enjoy Holi only wid u and dad carefully,”
My hubby insisted me to find a solution, for little boy’s happiness matter to us. To surprise my boy, I boiled and sieved petals of flowers and vegetable wastes like beetroot, spinach etc. at home to turn them into liquid colored extract & dried orange peels to make safe, organic and harmless dry colors..
Three of us (me, hubby and our son) enjoyed Holi in each others affectionate companionship. Seeing my little one all drenched in hues of Hope, Affection, Positivity, Enthusiasm and Liveliness that day will always be #KhulkeKheloHoli moment for me as a mom.
May this festival of colours add every possible color to his life always!!

    BURA NA MANO HOLI Hi!!!!
We indians just need a reason to have a break :) and festivals are the great reason to celebrate For me The best part of holi is to get ready white kurta or a pain white top is theeee best
My most memorable holi memories was we use to get up early in the morning and fill water ballons we use to hide and throw them on strangers there was one uncle on whom we have thrown water balloons he when and complaint to our parents the entire day we were all hiding no one went home till the night that was my best day loudmusic, dance, water, colours and friends
and the worst was waiting for the colours to go off from my hairs and face
Some memories always remains alive ?

  16. I would like to share my most fun holi moment with my dad. My dad is a traditional person & hence he doesn’t like me hugging him. Every time I hug him he says to stay away from him & I should stop doing that. But then on holi I hugged him as I had put the holi colours on him. But the minute I hugged him he started shouting asking my mom to come to rescue him. That same very evening after we had dinner as I was reading a book sitting besides him. He said to me slowly to get married. I wondered why & asked him the reason for saying that. He then told me, “If you want to hug some one everyday you can do it to your husband as I am not a modern dad to get hugged by you. I just don’t like it! Not even on holi. Do you understand that clearly!” As I heard that I just couldn’t stop laughing. This was like 10 years ago but till date on holi I remember this & it makes me laugh & very happy too. Whatever it may be I just totally love my dad. He is the SuperBest of all! It’s real fun & a complete joy to have a dad like that :) #KhulkeKheloHoli
