Faces Ultime Pro Highlighter 02 Champagne : Review and Swatches
Hello Girls !
There is a beautiful allure about glowy dewy makeup. Nevertheless, if the right kind of highlighter is not used, you would end up looking like a disco ball. For a long time now, I had been searching high and low for a good kind of highlighter for daily use. Something that you give the glow in a natural way.
Powder highlighter doesn’t seem to agree with my skin and I end up overdoing it. MAC Strobe Cream was surely on my bucket list (the price is kind of scary) but the moment I saw the launch of Faces Ultime Pro Highlighter, I knew I need this in my life.
Having using this for a week now, here’s my thought on the product.
PRICE – 799 INR for 15ml
AVAILABLE IN 3 SHADES:
- FACES Ultime Pro Metaliglow Opal – pinkish pearl shade
- FACES Ultime Pro Metaliglow Champagne – golden hue with a soft blend of peach and beige
- FACES Ultime Pro Metaliglow Topaz – Deep Rose gold shade
MY REVIEW –
Packaging – the Faces Ultime Pro Highlighter comes in a suitable and light weight packaging. The sleek transparent cylindrical body with a gorgeous silver pump is the exact kind of thing you want to travel with. It also has a black sturdy cap that shuts with a click. The packaging is ideal for carrying around, there no chance of breakage and extremely convenient to use with getting messy. I also loved the transparency of the bottle which enables you to identify the shade in a jiffy, in case you bought more than one or two bottles.
Shade – I bought the shade 02 Champagne is which is a subtle warm shade, perfectly tailored for the medium fair skin tones. The shade kind of adapts to my skin tone, leaving behind an enormous glow that looks so natural yet glowy during daytime and also at night. Coming to the intensity of the glow, I would opine it as medium. If you want the intense shine, you have to layer it well or use a powder highlighter. However, if you want a natural glow, this is the best thing in the market. This shade would be the perfect choice for most of the Indian skin tones and the shimmers are so muted that prevents you from looking gaudy.
Texture – it is a gel based strobe cream with a very light formula. It might be a cream but there isn’t a dash of oiliness or stickiness to the texture. Even the shimmers are so refined that it illuminates without looking kitschy and chunky. Be it an oily skin or dry skin, anyone can use this highlighter irrespective of the texture.
Finish – the finish is soft and once it sets, it will not budge at all. You have to blend it very quickly otherwise it might get patchy and look uneven. However, upon blending it looks gives a radiance to the skin, as if you are glowing from within. This is far and far better than powder highlighter which has the tendency to spread once you start sweating or accidentally touch your face. With this little baby, you don’t need to worry at all.
Application – these are best applied with fingers and blended onto the skin. The days I need an extra sort of glow to the skin, I apply on the high points like my cheek bones, chin, and high arears of nose, brow bone and Cupid’s bow to get that glowy and beaming touch. On certain days, I mix it with my BB cream or foundation to have that natural glow for the day out. The shimmers are so polished that instead of shinning unnaturally, it gives the best strobing effect. I found the application very easy and useful even when you are in a hurry.
Staying Power – with the weather being slightly warm and sunny, my oily skin gets greasy with time. I have seen the highlighter having a good staying power of 5-6hrs easily even in this weather and after that it only remains like a hint. It never spreads all over the face and easy to carry out. For the removal, you need a very good remover for long staying makeup or you can use a baby oil for this purpose.

Editor Shreya Says : “the beautiful collection of shades, gel based and easy to apply texture, smooth and radiant finish and easy to apply formula makes this product a safe choice. Highlighters are not a necessary for summer but if you lack the glow, you can go for one. I prefer powder highlighter in summer. For me this one is pricey and I better purchase benefit or MAC highlighter then spending money on drugstore product that is equality pricey. But love love Sanchita’s detailed reviews, she does an awesome job”
