Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro Blush, Bronze and Brighten in shade Flush : Review & Swatches
(~by Author Sanchita )
As a beginner with contouring and bronzing, I wanted to experience the drugstore brands before splurging on high end brands. The baked formula works very well and easier to blend into the skin. Makeup Revolution is the brand readily available online and quite well known for their price tag and formula.
I picked up the shade Flush from Iconic Pro Blush, Bronze and Brighten which is a great for beginners as well as for travelling. Let’s see how this palette fared with me.
PRICE – £4.00/ INR 850
Packaging – the palette comes in a cardboard box that houses the glossy black casing. It consists of a blush, bronzer and illuminator as mentioned above. It further comes with an in built mirror but surely lacks an applicator. Overall, I found the packaging good, light weight yet sturdy enough to carry around while travelling.
SHADE – It comes in 4 shades and I choose the shade Flush which is perfect for my medium fair skin tone with strong yellow undertones. The shade would be perfect for NC 30 to NC 40 in general.
BLUSH – the blush is an earth peachy pinkish color with no shimmer at all. However, it doesn’t look ashy or chalky as well. On my complexion, it gives a nice flush of earthy pink to the cheeks. It is a great everyday wear shade which you can easily wear with anything. For someone like me who prefers a simple flush of color no matter what the occasion is, this is the perfect choice. Coming to its texture, it is surely a creamy-powdery one to touch and blends profusely on the skin. The pigmentation is good and can be controlled easily too. The best part is that it is extremely forgiving even if you load too much product. Take your sweet time and blend it unless you see the natural flush of color on the cheeks. The staying power is good enough for daily wear and stays for 4-5hours after that you might need touch up. A proper primer and fixing spray surely elongates the staying power if she wishes to enhance it further.
BRONZER – the bronzer is an orangish brown color that looks like a decent tan on the skin. There was no shimmer or frosty touch at all. The color happily matches with my yellow undertones without looking stark or unnatural. The texture has resemblance with that of the blush and very easy to work with. Often too much bronzer on the face might make you look muddy but this never happen with this one even though I am just a beginner with bronzer. The pigmentation is average and that it what exactly helps you to correct the mistakes. You need to build up layers but it readily adapts to your skin. Sometimes, I simply use it to contour my face and avoid bronzing all over the face. Once again, it is a great product for beginners. The staying power is good enough of 6hours even in summers but if you sweat profusely throughout, it might stay around 4-5hours.
ILLUMINATOR – this is the best one in the kit and I have been so obsessed with this that I literally use it every day. It is a light champagne color that compliments my skin tone like nothing else. Although it looks slightly silvery in camera but trust me, it looks great for fair to medium Indian skin tones. Due to the absence of the stark silver touch, the illuminator looks extremely natural even in daylight. Whenever I am going for the no-makeup or subtle makeup look, I look no further than this palette. The shimmers are fine milled and instead of looking chunky on top of my cheek bones, it gives a smoothening and reflecting glow. The pigmentation is good and also easier to blend in. it doesn’t matter if you are a beginner, you can easily get a hang of it. The staying power is around 5hours with primer and it never spreads all over the face at the end of the day. It fades of without creating any mess at all.
OVERALL – the Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro Blush, Bronze and Brighten Flush is a great kit for everyday use and for beginners too. It gives a great natural finish to the skin and I found the staying power pretty decent even on oily skin.
