Colorpop Ultra Matte lipstick in shade ‘More Better’ : Review & swatches
~(by Author Nidhi )
Hello BnB Readers !
I am back after a break with the review of quite a popular lip product from a popular international brand named Colourpop. Caught in the fever of matte lipsticks and also in Colourpop fever, I picked a few shades from their ultra matte range. After testing the product for over a month, here I am going all ga-ga over this shade – More Better. So let’s get on with the review.
Description (claims by company) : This thin and lightweight formula glides onto the lips smoothly and leaves SUPER intense pigment-rich colour with a bold, ultra matte look. It’s very long wearing and completely kiss proof!
Price: $6.00 USD or 600 to 750/- INR
- Step 1: Make sure your lips are bare and dry!
- Step 2: Apply matching lip pencil for a precise and perfected application.
- Step 3: Apply Ultra Matte Lip with the applicator or your favorite lip brush.
Packaging: The product comes in a sleek round plastic transparent packaging with a long foam tip applicator. The thin consistency makes the application a little tricky especially towards the corner of the lips using the foam applicator so try using a thin lip brush if you fell like it.
Shade: According to the brand, ‘more better’ is a deep violet wine. Yes, the shade is a gorgeous deep wine that would look amazing on all skin tones. The color is bold and bright and alone screams for attention. So keep the rest of the makeup minimal and let this shade speak for itself. It is a true head-turner and I just love this color.
Texture: This liquid lipcolor has a thin consistency which applies evenly. It dries quickly to an ultra matte texture and becomes transfer proof. The matte texture adds to its beauty and it looks amazing both during daytime and you can top it off with a clear gloss for the extra sparkle during night outs or parties.
Pigmentation: This lipstick is mind blowing in the pigmentation department and 1 swipe is all you need for that bold color pay off. Once set, the color sits comfortably on the lips. Prior exfoliation is a must for chapped lips else you may find the color quite uneven. The shade doesn’t bleed or feather. It won’t fade away after light snacks. Does not transfer coming in contact with cups. So apply it once and forget about re-application after several hours.
Staying Power: The shade More Better stay put for several hours at a stretch. I have seen slight fading of the color after a full meal but still didn’t bother to touch it up. It looks as fresh as new eve after 6-7 hours which is fab. It starts fading away from the centre of the lips but you need a makeup remover to get it completely off your lips at the end of the day.
What I like:
- Gorgeous wine shade
- Amazing pigmentation
- Feather light texture
- Ultra matte finish
- Transfer proof
- Long staying power
- Nice sturdy packaging
- Color dries off pretty quickly
- Decently priced
What I dislike:
- Prior exfoliation is a must else the shade will look uneven.
- Can be drying at the end of the day.
- Availability issues in India.
BnB Ratings: 4.8/5
Final Verdict : If you are a matte lip product lover and a fan of bold lip colors, then More Better is the shade for you. Try grabbing it from Instagram pages. There are few genuine sellers who sell authentic colorpop products.
BnB Editor Shreya Says, “Great to have you back Nidhi, missed your fabulous FOTDs and reviews.
Coming to this shade I must say Nidhi has a good taste in lipcolors…This one is beautiful bold shade, but still not going crazy bold…holding on to a more purple mauve tone…but right on that line. Love it ! “
