Kama Ayurveda Pure Rose Water Review
(Author ~ Sanchita)
Every beauty conscious girl would know the amazing benefits of rose water and how it freshens up the skin in a jiff. Now, I always stuck with the budget friendly rose water brands like Khadi, Dabur Gulab Jal, and etc. but I have seen every beauty blogger praising Kama Ayurveda Pure Rose Water and claiming it as a HG product for skin care. So naturally I was quite intrigued to use it and bought the smaller version. The brand is well known for the excellent skin care products although slightly pricey in comparison. After using it for a month now, here’s my review on the product.
PRICE – 250 INR for 50ml
The rose water comes in a dark colored, light weight cylindrical size plastic bottle with a spay nozzle and a light transparent cap on it. Firstly, look wise, the packaging is exquisite and has a sheer luxurious feel to it. If you judge by its efficiency, then also the bottle is hygienic, light weight and thus great for travelling. The spray nozzle works absolutely fine and hence, I have no complaints regarding the packaging of it. The smell of the Kama Ayurveda Pure Rose Water has surely that true rose aroma to it. I have heard a lot of people saying that it smell very differently from the budgeted rose water in the market, but truth be told, I found the smell similar but slightly sweet and mild, unlike the strong smell of the Dabur one. The rose water has no color but looks like a plain water.
I have used it in various ways like toner, moisturizer, face masks, refresher spray and makeup setting spray. Firstly, as a toner it works great. It is completely alcohol free and won’t dry out the skin at all. Hence, it is also ideal for dry skin as well. It nicely balances the pH level of the skin. I simply spray few spritz and let it act on its own. It smoothen out the skin and I apply my usual night cream or facial oil afterwards. Secondly, I also use it as a moisturizer. Having an oily skin in summer is a tough job so I skip my usual moisturizer when I am going out and directly spray this on the face to let it absorbed on the skin. It takes a minute or two and then I simply apply the sunscreen and I am good to go for the whole day. It nourishes the skin and doesn’t make it stretchy or dry. However, dry skin can’t do this and would require a good moisturizer.
Coming to the face masks, it works excellently with face masks and I would highly recommend this one for face masks. The first day I used a simple Fuller’s Earth and Rose Water and kept it for 30minutes. My skin was fresh and glowing and I simply couldn’t believe. I also tried this with Besan face masks and it works amazingly as well. Fourthly, I used it for refresher spray in this humid weather. It gives a nice cooling sensation and clams down the skin when needed. Lastly, I used it for makeup setting and it works actually marvelously. It gives a semi-dewy but non greasy look to the skin and makes your makeup look utmost natural. So, all in all, the performance of this rose water has been amazing. Also, this rose water never broke me out despite having a sensitive acne prone skin.
The process of making this rose water by KA is what makes it stand out to claim its purity. They use a steam distillation method by boiling the Kannauj rose with high level of hygiene and unmatched purity. However, the only thing that strikes me is the price tag. The Oilcraft brand also Rose Water with steam distillation method but the price is slightly low. But since I haven’t used it, I can’t compare with this one.
OVERALL – The Kama Ayurveda Pure Rose Water is surely a luxurious rose water that imparts amazing benefits to the skin as a toner, moisturizer, face masks, refresher spray and makeup setting spray. If you want an all-rounder like this, surely go for this one and you won’t be disappointed.
