Faces Ultime Pro Intense Gel Kajal: Review, EOTD and Swatches
When Faces Magneteyes Kajal was launched, I had the least expectation. But, somehow it turned out to be a great kajal for daily wear. Now-a-days, a lot of brands are coming up with Gel-based kajal. Gel liners are extremely popular but they are time consuming and needs a lot of precision as well. Therefore, a pencil based gel kajal is always a welcomed change and very easy to use.
I have been using this for a long time now and here’s my review on it.
PRICE – Rs 549 for 1.2gm
Packaging – Faces Ultime Pro Intense Gel Kajal comes in a black slender cardboard box with brand name written in silver accents. It has every information penned down in it. The kajal has a long sharpenable pencil body which has to be sharpened. Although, the sharpening factor is a bit inconvenient and leads to wastage, as a matter of fact, gel based kajal cannot be encased in a retractable form because of their creamy texture. There is a smudger at the end of the pencil which will help you create a smoky looks. The packaging includes a sharpener as well. Therefore, the packaging is nice, to some extent travel friendly and works pretty well.
Shade and pigmentation – The shade is deep and dark black. It is one of the deepest black I have ever seen and it resembles a lot like my Rimmel Scandeleyes Blackmail. So, if you have been looking for a jet glossy black kajal, this can be great option. The pigmentation is impressive and looks striking black on the eyes. With the help of the smudger, you can create intense black smoky eyes with the help of the smudger.
Texture – The texture of the kajal is creamy and smooth. It is true to its name, gel-based and glides on the eyes without tugging at all. Honestly, this is as good smooth as a gel liner and gives a silky finish on the eyes. The creamy texture helps to smudge the kajal and create smoky looks. Now, this has a downside too. It will smudge the moment you would touch the eyes or accidently rub it. Also, if you are going to apply too many layers on the lower water line and lash line, it tends to smudge with the passage of time. Thus, the product is not smudge-proof at all.
Formula – As I have already mentioned that the product is not smudge-proof and smears with slightest touch, it is also not water proof but water resistant. The only way, I could make it work is that, I use this as a base of smoky eyes and set with a black eyeshadow to make it long lasting on my eyes. In this way, it works decently. The product is dermatologically tested and approved and works for sensitive eyes. It is also mineral oil and paraffin free kajal as well.
Staying power – The staying power is around 4-4.5hrs and then it starts smudging from my lower lash line. I didn’t like this part at all as I prefer my kajals to long-wearing and smudge proof. The pricing is pretty expensive given what it performs. So, I would advise to pick this up when on discount, if you want to use it at all.
OVERALL – The Faces Ultime Pro Intense Gel Kajal comes in sharpenable body with a smudger in the other end. The pigmentation is jet black with a super smooth creamy texture and glides easily. It is mineral oil and paraffin free but not smudge-proof at all. The product lacks the long-wearing formula and it slightly pricey.
