Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream

(Author Sanchita)

This winter’s harsh dryness took a toll on my hands, just like every year. I have tried the The Body Shop Hemp Hand Protector last year and was quite impressed with that. This time I decided to try out the Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream as I heard some really good review about the product. I have been using it for the past 2 months and I have been to say, it is surely one of the best hand creams I have used so far. Read on to know how the hand salve fared for me.

PRICE – Rs. 300 for 56g

MY REVIEW

The Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream is housed inside a white cardboard box. The hand salve comes in a small compact opaque white tube with a white screw cap. Uncapping the tube, you would find a small opening to take out the product. The opening is perfect as it lets out the right amount of product without any wastage. Also, the tube is light weight, sturdy and compact enough for travelling. The tube packaging is hygienic as well. Overall, I really liked the packaging of the hand cream.

The product is translucent in color. The consistency of hand salve is slightly thick and hence a little goes a long way. The dense consistency is easy to work with and the moment you massage the cream onto the skin, it turns whitish in nature and then dissolve into the skin. The moment it dissolves into the skin, it reveals a smooth, nourished and soft skin. The hands cream also has a soft and powdery smell. It has the whiff of artificial perfume but it surely refreshes the skin with the aroma. For a hand cream, the smell is really good.

The cream will not feel greasy, sticky or excessively oily at all. Thus, it causes no sweat at all. The hand cream is best suitable for normal to dry skin. If you have excessively dry hands, apply the cream in generous amount and wear a pair of woolen gloves for an hour or so. This helps to trap in the moisture well and immediately relieves you from dryness. Thus, the hands feel soft and supple throughout a long time. You can also use this for cuticles and nails and it works like a charm. The only disappointment is that the product has parabens. However, it has glycerin which helps to seal the moisture well on the skin.

The longevity of the hydration is really good. It keeps my hands soft and supple for around 6-7hours even when I am stepping out. I generally apply it twice a day – once in the morning and then before hitting the bed. Even if you wash your hands, it will last up to two washes and after that you have to reapply again. I noticed that this winter the area around my nails, which usually gets really dry and chapped, feels smooth and glossy. Thus, I like the staying power of this hand cream.

OVERALL – Thus, Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream is surely one of the best affordable hand creams. It comes in a tube packaging with thick texture but spreads well without being greasy or oily, yet being hydrating enough to keep your hands soft and supple for quite a long time.
