Kama Ayurveda Bringadi Intensive Hair Treatment Oil Review

(Author ~ Sanchita)

My last haul of Kama Ayurveda had the Bringadi Intensive Hair Treatment Oil. I heard some really good reviews from a lot of people and thought this is a good time to invest in hair oil. Of late, I have been ignoring the tresses and it is about time I start taking care. I have been using this oil for a couple of months and here’s the review.

PRICE – 545 INR for 100ml

Kama Ayurveda Bringadi Intensive Hair Treatment Oil comes in a rectangular transparent bottle with a golden screw cap. The bottle might look dark because the oil itself is dark brown. There is a small opening which prevents the oil being messed up. The bottle is made of plastic, light weight and travel friendly. However, the oil has an obnoxious smell. It is an Ayurvedic product but the smell is something I hate. Also, the aroma is too overpowering and make sure you use a good shampoo and conditioner afterwards to remove that smell.

Coming to the texture, it is one of the lightest hair oil I have seen. The consistency is very thin and non-sticky. I accidentally used a lot on the first use but it never made my hair sticky or uneasy. Due to the light weight texture, it is easier to wash off as well. I have only used the oil few hours before washing my hair (because of the smell) and I hardly kept it overnight. The product is 100% natural and there are no chemicals mixed with it. It consists of several potent herbs extracted into pure Sesame oil and Milk. It also includes the goodness of Indigo, Eclipta Alba, Balloon Vine, Gooseberry and Licorice. All these are meant to relieve hair loss, promote hair growth, prevent dandruff, acts as a natural conditioner, prevent scalp infections and uplift the mood.

Coming to my experience, I have mixed feeling about this product. My biggest concern for hair is hair fall and dryness. The oil helped the scalp a lot and prevented the itching, which is usual in summer. I was having terrible hair fall and despite using this oil for about 2months, the progress was very slow. Coming to the dryness part, it did nothing. My homemade coconut oil was far better than this one and I think the hair oil contributed nothing to the dryness. Therefore, it didn’t act as a natural conditioner. However, one thing I noticed is that the hair growth has improved a lot. I opted for short hair few months ago and by now my hair length has increased. The oil has such a bad smell that I don’t think it uplifted my mood anywhere. Thus, it worked on some grounds but I would like to go back to my HG coconut oil after I finish off this bottle.

OVERALL – The Kama Ayurveda Bringadi Intensive Hair Treatment Oil comes in a travel friendly bottle and is light weight ayurvedic oil. It gets easily absorbed and makes the hair non sticky. It has various potent herbs, 100% natural and worked well for scalp, hair growth and gives a cooling sensation. However, it didn’t work well for hair loss and dryness, though.

  1. Travel friendly packaging.
  2. Light weight and gets easily absorbed.
  3. 100% natural ingredients.
  4. Cooling sensation.
  5. Enriched with pure Sesame oil and the goodness of Indigo, Eclipta Alba, Balloon Vine, Gooseberry and Licorice.
  6. Promotes hair growth.
  7. Prevents hair loss (though takes a lot of time)

  1. Expensive
  2. Didn’t work as a natural conditioner for dryness.
  3. Works just like any natural coconut/almond/olive oil.
  4. BNB RATING – 6/10

RECOMMENDATION – I strongly believe that everyone has different hair types and unfortunately this famous product didn’t work for me.
