My skin care product obsession started when I was in college.  It all started when I felt the need of doing my own independent research about beauty products. One of the first products I fell in love and could afford to buy for myself was Himalaya Face Scrub.

Honestly I’ve never liked any of the scrubs that I used in past, it maybe because of the fact that I want the result nothing less than perfect ( here it means super-soft, clear and glowy skin). Recently when I discovered America’s favorite scrub online I thought why not give it a try. An exfoliating facial scrub marketed for all skin types, it contains salicylic acid to clear clogged pores and fight pimples, and, as an added bonus, its paraben free.

Let’s find out why this brand is labelled as America’s no1 scrub brand…

My Experience?

How I Use the product?

I really like washing my face in the mornings but I always use my facial scrubs in the evening time (you don’t want the delicate skin underneath to get exposed to sun, dirt or pollutants) . First I cleanse my face with my face-wash. Once all the dirt and makeup is removed, I use a small amount of the scrub and  massage it all over my face (and neck), scrubbing for about a minute before I rinse. Afterward, my skin feels smooth and  refreshed, making it a beauty double threat! You need to be careful not to rub too hard, I’ve seen my Dad doing that with my homemade walnut scrub and it caused horrible redness on his sensitive facial skin. Also try to avoid scrubbing delicate area around your eyes. As with all scrubs, be sure to apply a hydrating moisturizer to make it up to your skin barrier.

The scrub comes in a sleek white lush tube.  The flip cap secures the product perfectly and it also dispenses out the right amount of product. The tube is not messy at all and light weight and perfect for travel purpose. I like the tube packaging over any pot packaging as it is more hygienic.

The scrub has a very mild fragrance, which is neither pleasant nor annoying, but the fragrance is more on fresh fruity side.

I can see a lot of microparticles which is essentially apricot seeds. The microbeads are gentle on the skin though it contains walnut as an ingredient. The scrubbing particles are exceptionally good to exfoliate the skin deeply and at the same time quite easy to rinse. Texture is more on the creamy side.

It contains Walnut extracts which provides a subtle scrubbing action, sloughing away dead cells and buildup. The best part is the salicylic acid which helps to fight acne. I don’t think this can cure your acne problem forever but it can definitely be used to prevent breakouts. As my readers know my skin is sensitive but this scrub didn’t bother my skin at all. Apricot granules helps to exfoliate by gently unclogging the pores and giving natural glow to the skin.

Effect On My Skin:

Using any facial scrub more than twice a week is not recommended. A good scrub will always stimulate new cell growth and brighten your complexion. I could see the result within two weeks, my skin has less blemishes now (this I found out while taking New Year selfies). Of course, it didn’t cure my hormonal acne problem but surely made my skin look somewhat flawless by minimizing my pore size around my nose.

  1. Nice hygienic packaging and also travel friendly.
  2. The scrub is light creamy and has a mild fresh fruity fragrance.
  3. The exfoliating particles are not harsh on the skin.
  4. Works on all skin types.
  5. Makes the skin smooth and soft.
  6. Removes dead cells.
  7. Prevents acne.
  8. Improves skin texture.
  9. Helps in unclogging pores.
  10. No Parabens
  11. Affordable

  • Won’t work much on blackheads
  • It doesn’t help in curing acne

Final Verdict:  I’m sure many of you have tried this scrub or read good reviews about it. Personally I am happy to discover a good new scrub. The best part though is how it feels when you rinse it off! My face hasn’t been this soft since….well- I guess Teenage, it seems!
