Ahhh going home after long day’s work, Isn’t it just the Best ? There’s nothing more peaceful than going home after a long day and sitting on your favorite chair watching your favorite show. There is one more favorite thing I like to do after coming home, which is removing my makeup. I agree there were days when I committed the sin of slipping between sheets and going to sleep without removing makeup but I learned my lesson the hard way.

Today I’ll be reviewing one of the new products I tried – CLARINS Gentle Foaming Cleanser for Combination or Oily Skin. The price of this is $26 for 130 ml. The Key Ingredients used to make this face cleanser is Gypsophila Extract and Tamarind. The Micro-Bio-Ecolia that are extracted from natural sugars helps to preserve the skin’s natural moisture balance and purifies skin from deep within. A little product just a pea size goes a long way.

The cleanser comes in a light green plastic tube. The texture is creamy and lightweight, like all foaming cleansers, this needs to be massaged on damp skin and once it mixes with water it forms good lather. My skin feels really clean post use and I can tell that every pore is deeply cleansed as my face looks very fresh and clear.

Apparently, it is low on alcohols and sulphates because my skin reacts badly with these two ingredients. It contains glycerin, water and stearic acid in high concentration hence the slippery feel to it and also the lack of dry feeling after usage. The fragrance of this product is very pleasing but not strong to bother you.

Washing my face with this product is actually the second step of my DC (double cleansing) night routine. For those who are not aware about double cleansing, let me say it’s a simple process but we often ignore this a lot.
First round I remove my makeup with micellar water or sometimes I even use an oil based makeup remover for heavy makeup. Once I’ve removed all the makeup, I use a water-based cleanse (right now this Face Cleanser) and that is where I give all my attention.

Second step of double cleanse should never be quick like a splash, you have to actually massage your cleanser in for a minute to remove all the toxins and makeup. It’s always the best idea to use lukewarm water to cleanse your face. You don’t want your skin to get irritated by using extremely cold or hot water. By taking few minutes to cleanse your face and using two types of cleansers, you’re actually helping your skin to stay flawless. Since both the first layer of sebum, heavy make-up, sunscreen and deeper layers of pore bacteria are removed in double cleansing, you can save the skin from acne causing bacteria and other skin problems.

Coming back to the product, I’ve used several face cleansers and the generally don’t deep cleanse. CLARINS Gentle Foaming Cleanser for Combination or Oily Skin.  Cleanses my skin without irritating it or making is very dry. It does an excellent job of clearing my skin from blackheads. However, in winter you will need to follow-up this cleanser with some good moisturizer.

Overall, this is a really effective and deep cleansing face wash that removes all my makeup, dirt from my face  and leaves the skin feeling fresh and clean.  I’ll highly recommend to try this !
