Maybelline Creamy Matte Lipstick range has really got hooked! I have been purchasing color from this range back to back and one of my favourite colors is the Touch of Spice, which I am going to review today. Among the drugstore brands, Maybelline is coming up with amazing launches and it is really difficult to keep a track on all of them. This MLBB shade is something a lot of skin tones can pull off and here’s the detailed review on the same.

PRICE – Rs. 575 for 4.2g

MY REVIEW

Packaging – Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lipstick comes in a silver twist up packaging with a deep mauve cap. The shade name and color coding is on the bottom of the lipstick. It is very light weight yet sturdy; fuss free to carry around and extremely travel-friendly.

Shade – Touch of Spice is a medium-deep earthy rosy mauve colour with warm undertones. Well, the description may sound a little confusing but the colour has its own beauty. It is an MLBB shade for most of the Indian skin tones and for dusky and deeper skin tones, it is the perfect neutral shade. It can be worn with any formal outfit or office-wear and doesn’t look OTT at all. The slight rosy hint gives a natural soft look to the lips. The colour can also be beautifully paired up with a stunning smoky eye look. The colour is a mixture of MAC Twig and MAC Verve.

Pigmentation – The pigmentation is amazing as it deposits a good amount of pigment in the first swipe itself.  Generally go for the second layer to give a neat and opaque finish to the lips. I hardly use a lip liner as the colour doesn’t require much. However, if you want that fuller, defined and precise look for the lips, a lip liner would help you to achieve that. The colour never stains the lips.

Texture – I believe this range of Creamy Matte Lipstick from the house of Maybelline is one of the best textures I have seen after MAC. It glides onto the lips as smooth as butter and does tug or pull the skin at all. it never accentuates the fine lines or dry patches unless you’re lips are not properly prepped beforehand.

Finish and Formula – The Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Matte has a soft matte finish – you can also call is almost powdery matte but the formulation feels creamy enough to hydrate the lips for longer duration. It hardly transfers onto glasses or spoon. The finish and formula is comfortable even though they are matte.

Staying Power – The longevity on the lips is around 5-6hours but a lot depends on the food and fluid intake. While consuming oily food if you are not carefully enough, the lip color tends to get remove from the inner portions.

Criticism – This lipstick needs to be applied in a thin layer otherwise it looks slightly thick and waxy but this is really a slight glitch about the formula. Apart from that, this creamy matte range is exceptionally good.
