 Strawberries are the first fruit to ripen in spring and early summer. Perfectly ripe strawberries are best eaten out of hand, but they also make great additions to salads and plenty of desserts.

Strawberry Health Benefits :

This delicious and red colored strawberries are among the most popular berries. Strawberries are known to protect your heart, increase HDL (good) cholesterol and lower your blood pressure. Strawberries are a good source of manganese and potassium.Packed with vitamins and fiber- – -have high levels of antioxidants known as polyphenols. They are among the top 20 fruits in antioxidant capacity.

According to the California Strawberry Commission, a serving of strawberries (about 8 strawberries) provides 160 percent of the recommended daily intake for vitamin C. Further, vitamin C has been associated with reduced rates of stomach, cervical, breast and non-hormone-dependent cancers.

Skin Benefits:

For Anti- Aging – The power of vitamin C in strawberries continues, as it is vital to the production of collagen, which helps to improve skin’s elasticity and resilience. Strawberry’s contains alpha-hydroxy acid, a great little substance that helps slough off dead skin cells when used as face cleanser so that new, youthful skin is revealed. That’s the reason it is used in most of the face cleansers and scrubs.

For Dark Circles – Omega- 3 fatty acids found in strawberries lighten the skin tone and reduce dark circles.

For Acne – Strawberries are rich in salicylic acid, which is commonly found in many commercial acne cleansers for a very good reason. Salicylic acid is able to penetrate deep within the pore to help exfoliate and cleanse the skin from dirt, oils, and free radicals that cause acne.


These tips are highly effective. Do try them!

Face Mask : Mash 2-3 strawberries add 1 tsb yogurt and honey to form a thick mixture. Apply to the clean face and neck, avoiding the area around the eyes, and leave on for 15 minutes. Rinse off with cold water.

Body Scrub : Cut a strawberry in half, rub it over your face and body, and let it sit there for a 5-10 minutes, then rinse. Instantly softer, smoother skin!

Hair Mask : If you want beautiful silky hair, this one’s for you: 6-8 fresh strawberries
plus 1 tablespoon mayonnaise. Mash ingredients thoroughly and massage into damp hair. Cover with a shower cap and a warm towel. Allow to stay on hair for at least 10 minutes, then shampoo as usual.

Strawberries are not only great to the taste buds but also to your health and skin.
