Lakme Absolute Matteral Skin Natural Mousse Review
~ Author : Surabhi Pisal
Hello beautiful ladies :-)
Hope you all are doing fine. Summer is here and it has seriously taken a toll on my skin! My oily skin just hates it. Sweat and greasiness tends to spoil makeup and makes it look cakey. I recently got this Lakme Mattreal Skin Natural Mousse in shade- golden light 04 after reading lots of positive reviews about it. Without much ado, let us see if it was a hit or a miss.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION/CLAIMS: This foundation delivers a feather light texture giving you breathable natural skin. This weightless formula hides pores, fine lines and uneven skin tone to leave skin peachy soft all through the day. Contains SPF 8 and lasts up to 16 hours.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
- -Using fingertips gently spread tiny dots of this foundation mousse over the face and neck area.
- -Complete the look with absolute lip last day love on lips and a clean bold stroke of absolute shine line olive on eyes.
PRICE: INR 700 (the price was INR 550 earlier but they have now increased the price to INR 700 L)
Lakme Absolute Mattreal Skin Natural Mousse comes in a really cute shiny pot. I really like the way it looks ^_^ the packaging of this mousse is very artfully done! The cap is actually plastic with steel shiny coating and has a grey coloured lower compartment which securely holds the product.
I didn’t use foundations much due to a bad experience with one of the oriflame foundations. I actually thought foundations are not meant for oily skinned girls. With crossed fingers I bought this product praying for it to suit my skin. The texture of this mousse is very whipped-cream like and spreads like a dream giving feathery soft matt feel! It just disappears into your skin.
The shade –golden light has yellow undertones to it which makes it perfect for Indian skin tones. It has a mild citrusy fragrance which disappears quickly. I apply tiny dots all over my face and spread evenly using fingertips. Very little amount goes a long way. I wish they provided a spatula with this as its very unhygienic and messy to dip your fingers into the pot everytime in order to get the product, especially if you have long nails! yuck! This mousse gives light coverage which works for my skin.
Light spots and blemishes are concealed perfectly but it does not completely hide your dark circles. You cannot layer this foundation as it gives a whitish cast if too much product is used. Though I am fine with this product as I do not have blemishes.
When it comes to staying power Lakme Mattreal Mousse excels beyond expectation. This does stay all day long even after sweating which is a boon for me. Overall, a nice base to try specially during summer when foundations can look a bit too heavy.
WHAT I LIKE :-)
- Lightweight formula
- Gives perfect matt finish
- Natural looking coverage
- looks good in pictures
- Stays all day long
- Does not darken my skin after 3-4 hours like the oriflame foundation *yippee*
- Perfectly hides lines and spots
- Nice citrusy fragrance which I seem to like ^_^
- Does not go away with sweating
- Suits oily skinned beauties
- Easily available
- Little goes a long way
- Has yellow undertones which makes it perfect for Indian skin tones
WHAT I DISLIKE :-(
- 16 hour claim is not true
- Bit expensive (considering they have increased the price)
- Not for dry skinned beauties (might show white dry patches)
- Light-medium coverage
- Limited shades available
- Proper ingredient list not mentioned
Overall this is a very good product! I now want to try other matt foundations (chambor, Revlon airbrush etc.) with good reviews and hence I won’t be repurchasing this!
